One week left, One week and the tournament is here one week and its on like Donkey Kong. My kid has been doing better than expceted in sparring the last two weeks, his weight is at 146, I had though I could bring him down to 141 since his last fight he was around 144. its not happening, I had called and made an adjustment and moved him up to welter weight. I am not worried, 152 is the top out so we are right in the middle. He is ****ing strong right now, I feel it when I come home from the gym every night. My elbows are killing my my body is sore, its all good. Honestly I am not nervous at all, Maybe a little bit but its stored some where in the back of my mind, Right now I am not even thinking anything but execution at this point, its as if I am fighting.
Our Training has been like this for the last 7 weeks 4 Rounds Shadow Boxing 4 Rounds heavy bag 4 Rounds Double End bag 4 Rounds Mitt work 3 rounds of Speed bag Non stop for the full three 3 Rounds of Skipping Rope non stop for the full three another 4 rounds of Shadow boxing This is Tuesdays and thursdays work out We spar three times a week M W and Friday, on those days we have been sparring 6-8 rounds full sparring, so the work out changes up No mitts or Heavybag routines those days its replaced with Sparring. Todays work was near perfect, nice cool down routines, staying lose focusing on the game plan and execution, He is looking very sharp the last two weeks each day in the gym and in sparring he has gotten a little bit better each time out. My confidence is there, not over confident I just beleive in the work we have put in I know the last 7 and a half weeks we have put in 100% each step of the way. Countdown starts now~
Last day in the gym today, Tomorrow weigh in is at Noon, The draw is to follow. From there its all business, we are focused Confident and ready. Snuck in an extra sparring session and we are still sharp, everything is a Go. its time for ****ing War~
Started waking up about 430, my mind was racing went down stairs made some coffee, did a quick count of our gear Gauze, Tape, Ice bag... Waking the kid up in about another 2 hours, let him skip some rope for a bit before we head down there. Weigh in starts at noon, after the weigh in and registration we have the draw this could be an all day thing..
Thank you, all. Weighed in at 150 though I weighed him here at home on a Tanita scale and he was 147 not bitching just throwing it out there. There are three so far in our weight class the draw is at six pm tonight I will be leaving in an hour I hope we do not get a walk over, I would like to fight tomorrow night, there is a chance we may have to wait until friday, But I would love to fight tomorrow.
