TBH I think its a lazy comparison to try and get the footy fans on BBC to read about it.

I dont like Ben Dirs' stuff for the most part.

There was no mention in De La Hoya's significant losses about the Shane Mosley first fight??????? :patsch

that one was the most siginifcant as it was prime v prime and De La Hoya got done fair and square

1st off.................Beckham is not as good looking as De La Hoya

the media have tried to brain wash everyone that Beckham is some greek god of love :-(

Beckham was a average looking guy with a middle pattern - he was not male model material

Now Beckham has just got alot of money to spend on grooming to make himself look good - like Coleen Rooney is a average bird who probaly spends a few grand a month to look way better than nature blessed her with.

De La Hoya is naturally just a handsome kind of guy - and was so even when he was a amateur with no money.

Beckham is a decent guy - he is ok - the only thing with Beckham is because of all the media agenda to turn him and posh into some kind of God and Goddess his ego swelled where he really started to believe him and Victoria were Greek Royalty from the days of Zeus.

He started dressing like a ponce and starting getting caught up in all this style and glamour and Victoria too was pouting as if she was the Queen of Sheba

    Its all hype though........................

Listening to David and Victoria Beckham speak reminds you they are just very average people who the media are responsible for making everyone believe through hype that they were the modern day version of Greek God Royalty

they would be sitting on the throne watching the Gladiator fight to death the tiger in the great big arena in Athens Greece - during the Olympic Games of 500 years before Christ

Beckham - Zeus - the ultimate God

    Victoria - Queen of Sheba

Meanwhile De La Hoya was a very good fighter

He just falls short of being great - because there was just nothing exceptionally special about him

he was just very good all around

    and he fought everyone

and even if he lost a few - he was always competitive with the best fighters out there

the only guy he didnt fight was Ronald Winky Wright

but he more than made up for that for fighting Hopkins

he was gifted a decsion against Felix Strum and he clearly was overreaching himself at Middleweight

Yes Oscar is a bit of a ****

you know that million dollar smile hides a steely business mind

and yes he ****ed loads of girls behind his girlfriends back

he deserves his place in the HOF though he mixed with the best fighters of his era with credit

    win or lose

I remember this, it was shortly before London won the right to stage the 2012 Olympics, Beckham was one of the high profile athletes who was wheeled out to help Britain's bid.

I remember this because Frank Warren used his column to attack Froch by sarcastically suggesting that Froch should have been the big name on display instead of Beckham.
