BBC getting it wrong or not? Mitchell versus Katsidis

    Just reading the Boxing news on BBC sports webpage.

    "Amir Khan and Kevin Mitchell keen on domestic showdown"

    According to them... Katsidis has never fought for a world title.

    He's had a few WBO interim title fights and fought for the IBO title. So are they saying that if Mitchell beats Katsidis that he won't be a world champion?

    I'm confused. :huh

    I dont think this is a world title fight, although they're banking on Marquez relinquishing :good I think :huh

    its an interim title fight. due to politics Katsidis has never become a full champion. He was kind of avoided after the Earl fight.

    this is a great fight between two top 10 Lightweights. Its doesnt need a belt.

    i'm pretty sure he fought Casamayor for the LW title and Ring titles.

    I thought Marquez was fighting Diaz again. Are they both staying at 140?

    well if marquez doesnt vacate,this interim title is all katsidis or mitchell will be getting this year,because jmm knocks em both out.

    Is it one of those world title fights that fans just decide is a real title fight for no apparent reason but stupidity?

    Nah its more a promotional thing to sell more tickets, when you say interim world title people in the national media think that means a genuine world title fight when of course we know thats only the case if JMM vacates. His Diaz fight is down as a LW titles defense so dont look like its happening. Glad its not at 140, not bothered about the belts or Kev being world champ if he beats Katsidis by depol but niether JMM or Baby Bull belong at 140 its a better match-up at 135 as we've seen already. Plus the winner of the 2 great fights (I predict JMM Mitchell) would be sweet to see
