The last show for a couple of weeks and the 81st consecutive show...it's still a work in progress at the moment...also, the first 30 minutes will not be available on DAB, so listen on 94.9 or online. Sorry about that. It will be available as a podcast and listen again from late tonight. Khan. Fury. Kimball OBIT. Boddy. Barker. McCloskey. I'm reaching for Kevin Mitchell and I've put a call in for Nicky Cook. Get in touch tonight: This content is protected Adios and thanks.
Bunce, I know your the man to mention what has not been mentioned. The betting scandal. I will always defend boxing but I 100% beleive Nicky Cook took a dive in some way Saturday night.
I'm the chap who did the betting story and even I don't think Cook 'took a dive' in that sense...it was a pretty shite one if he did as it was two rounds too early. But it certainly needs addressing, and the BBBoC needs to make a statement on it.
Was checking out this yesterday and wondering why it wasn't on, but realised it was Wednesday. Looking forward to this one, thanks Bunce!
Rob, it clearly wasn't a dive. Obviously Cook seems to have been aware of an injury before the fight and it looks like word got out and betting was affected. Whatever the reason is irrelevant, it was a **** fight on paper anyway and I'm glad it got thrown back in Frank's face. Just a shame Sky were happy to televise it. Hopefully next time they'll learn from this.. hopefully.
Watch the fight back. Cook turns his back towards the punches. For both body shots. The injury and pain is real but Cook new what would happen. and your theory does not explain why there were bets on certain rounds. Bunce don't even think about saying "Well the round was meant to be the 3rd" because that is complete BS.
Buncey, Can you give us some facts on the big news that's going down. Did Enzo really nip to the chippie on the way to fight Haye?
So he deliberately turns his injured back into punches? What is he a pain junkie? My 'theory' explains perfectly why there were bets on early rounds.. Cook knew he was injured before the fight and therefore wouldn't be able to compete. It suspiciously sounds like he's had some money on himself going down early unfortunately :-( Anyway, looking forward to the show as usual Steve :good
Buncey, Ageeessss ago you said a possible film about the life of michael gomez (the fighter who beat alex arthur for those who dont know) have i missed the press about that or is it scrapped?? could you tell us on the show? I personally think the script for that film be great just like the film "The Fighter" great show i listened to 72 consecutive shows the rest on podcast keep it up Cheers Michael
bunce whilst you are doin your 4tops bit and reachin out anychance u can reach out to either bellew or gavin both hyped up there fights massively and neither delivered the performance they promised interested to know where they are headin now opponent wise etc. also please ask kevin if he fancies kastidis again? and if fury wins how about mormeck(who i think is tailored made for fury) before the haye fight he craves (he was talkin about fightin haye on the talksport show the traitor!) cheers karl
PunchdrunkETC: Bellew and Gavin for another day...I want this to breathe a bit tonight...and I want your emails. Adios.
It would be great to hear from either the promoter, Cook or Robert Smith on the reported betting angle. And is Cook's brother really arrested over this or is that just bull****?
