If Haye, Khan, Froch and Burns were all lineal champs in 2011 it would be an amazing year.

Could imagine Sky doing a photo shoot with them all holding there RING titles.

    High

    1) Carl Froch. Went to war with Kessler and lost a close decision away from home. Great fight and showed his warrior mentality like never before. Went on to box rings around a dangerous Abraham who many thought would KO the cobra. For me, he was just behind Martinez as fighter of the year.

    2) Amir Khan. Boxed beautifully in his US debute against paulie M, winning every round. Went to war with Maidana (toughest guy in the division) and actually took punishment and battled back to win a UD. This win puts him firmly as my number 2 in the division behind Bradley. I also predict Khan to beat Timmy next year.

Notable mentions: Sergio Martinez's KO of Paul Williams, Ricky Burns world champion, Juan Manuel Marquez's 43 unanswered punches against Katsidis (was just wow!), Manny Pac putting a beatdown on Toney, and James Degale's rise.

    Low

    1) Haye - Harrison. I suppose it was his destiny to throw 1 jab?

    2) Erkki Meronen. How the guy didn't stop the Enzo - Frenkel fight after the 1st knock down is beyond me! Enzo could have died in there!

Notable mentions: the ref in the Williams - Martinez fight trying to count out the Punisher even the he was out cold and the doctors were in the ring (that was pretty special), Mayweather's lack of urge (such a waste of talent), kermit Cintrons superman through the ropes, and sugar Shane Mosley's poor year (gassed in 2 against Money and looked awful against Mora) still, it's enough to get him a Pacquiao fight.

Low- The lack of Terrestrial coverage of boxing this year. Boxing needs to return to primetime television, I'm sure there is a market for it- when Khan used to fight he used to draw in 2 million + without a title .

    :yep

It's not only the WBA that are at it..... Sillyman is doing it too!

    Silver and Diamond belts :-(

The fat **** even had the balls to moan about Israel Vazquez refusing to pay a sanctioning fee for the 4th Marquez fight..... the WBC had apparently done loads for his career :nut

More like he knew it was his last fight and wanted to keep all the marbles for himself :happy

Even over here though there's too many - British masters, International masters.... these silly international/intercontinental ''titles'', the alphabets have all got a European now I think, plus there's the EBU and EBU-EU.....

Some of these mean absolutely nothing - yet the fighters pay sanctioning fees for them..... madness.

If I was getting punched in the face I'd want as much of the £££££ for myself :deal

Ah, yes, the good old WBC. Who's latest decision is to not allow Tim Bradley to win the WBC belt against Alexander. :patsch

    Highs -
Stuart Hall winning the British bantamweight championship and bringing a belt back to the north east.
Haye vs Harrison weigh in when you thought that Audley would put up a show.
British Olympic boxing teams funding going up despite all the cuts.

    Lows
The Haye/Harrison debacle and the lack of undercard on sky.
Big Enzo getting knocked out against Frenkel, resurection to nothing.
The demise of Danny Williams against Derek Chisora, sad to see a warrior going down like that, the Potter fight on YouTube is still a must see though.

high for british boxing is amir Khan and Carll Froch ,both turned corners this year and froch has had some excellent perfromance

another high was burns performance against martinez,a brilliant performance and a genuine upset in many eyes

Lows ... the rise of james Degale ,his style and arrogence is a "news of the world" waiting to happen and will one day bring shame on the sport we all love

The harrison/haye fight being made for all the wrong reasons ....
