Everything obvious has been mentioned. High - Prizefighter The Super Featherweight and in particular the return of Derry Matthews :good
High Sky booking their ideas up David Haye's level of exposure Boxing News & Boxing Monthly - British and better than ever (as Pepe Correa might say) The boxing hour! A terrific (and heathy) list of IBHOF inductees Low Haroon Khan being able to manipulate the British media into reporting a non story James Toney (I was there in Boston!) What Haye has done in the ring Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe and more bad press for boxing, whether a stitch up or not
Highs Kahn Froch No1 though has to be Burns Lows Valero:-( Haye/Audinairy The saddest for me is Micheal Gomez on the unlicenced circuit.
Highs: -Khan, Froch and Burns. -Saturday night domestic boxing -Super Feather prizefighter as Grant says (and this is coming from a Sykes fan ) -Premier Sports -Also the super bantam prizefighter which led to Casey getting a Euro and then a 'world' title shot -The terrific end to the year after a lot of cancellations/empty schedules earlier in the year. -Sergio Martinez -The Super 6 battling on -The continued rise of British and Irish amateur boxing Lows: -The heavyweight division - Haye/Audley, Vitali/Briggs, Solis and Povetkin supposedly being the next big things yet looking terrible in their last fights. -Pac/Mayweather not happening -Top Rank/Golden Boy feud that is preventing a lot of big fights -The sanctioning bodies, especially the WBA -Andre Dirrell
Brilliant stuff agree with all of that I would also add the return of Ringside which has been a terrific addition and I would also add the Bantamweight Tournament and/or Showtime in general, you have to give them credit when the whole world and TV in general seems to be giving up on Boxing they have persevered, been innovative and worked for the true Boxing fan rather than Al Haymon or the oh so other rated "Casual Fan".
Are we sure it will be the end? I for one have my doubts. Lows--- Anthony Small Valero all the boxing deaths that occured this year Harry Carpenter etc. It would be interesting to hear what Negus is doing with his life now. Highs for me would be some of the live cards I went to. The two franks put on some really good cards that I went to this year. Examples would be the mag seven and Fury Mcdermott II. Great Cards. Be interesting to get an update on Mr Kevin Mitchell. As always nice one Bunce!!!
biggest low for me was kevin mitchell was gutted when he lost to katsidis biggest high was seeing michael walsh get put on his arse by a flyweight
I wonder if somebody on here could read through all this and do a top 3 good and top 3 bad for me by about 8pm tomorrow night? That way I can deliver the Eastsideboxing top 3s. Adios.
