Welcome. It's 8-9pm live. Online and available later on the BBC's websites. Nice show this week... This is what I'm going for...Ashley Theophane...Frankie Gavin...Enzo Maccarinelli....Steve and Steve Foster....Darren Barker...Randy Caballero...and a secret or two. I will confirm the running order as I go... Adios and thanks.
Rhodes with Warren and a world title??? Groves vs DeGale date??? Haye vs Klitscko back on for July 2nd???
Calzaghe coming back to face Froch? Amir Khan to fight Floyd Mayweather? David Haye to fight someone under 36?
Earl Hickey to post something constructive?? Frank Warren London show update? Potential Full Monty 3 with Rhodes, Brook in World Title fights/eliminator? Enzo's choice to continue at 175? When Froch-Johnson venue will be decided?
Buncey, what was your fight of the weekend and performance of the weekend? Degale told me last week that his fight with Groves will be confirmed today. So my money is on that. Unless he is a fibber...
I think that the DeGale/Groves deadline is today. My fight of weekend...Fury or McDermott...round of weekend would be Theophane in 9th...performance would be Watson...Gavin never shocks me because I know just how good he is! And you are right about that word...never use it again in a BBC London thread!! I've reached out to Christy Martin, by the way. Adios.
I thought the deadline was Friday but I might be wrong. James did seem like he was being genuine when I spoke to him about it, but who knows if he is told to say certain things. When I said they better hurry up and announce it as the deadline is under a week away, he laughed and said not to worry, all will be sorted by Wednesday. Gavin really impressed me last week. The fight was made at the 11th hour, and the lad was punch perfect. I was also really impressed with Theophane. A fight with these two has to happen IMO. Bit it seems Ashley wants a world title eliminator next.
Nice line up but I am cringing listening about big Enzo's comeback - I think the world of Enzo but I fear he is going to get hurt.
I agree m8. Enzo has always been the 'knockout or get knocked out' type fighter, and he is fun to watch. But he has taken A LOT of punishment in his career, and his last fight he suffered a brutal KO (not sure what the ref was doing letting him go on after the 1st knockdown as he could have been killed!' He has lost 3 of his last 7 since Haye, and if he steps up against a relatively good fighter again he will probably get KO'ed. I like Enzo a lot as a fighter and person, but enough if enough. Healthwise, it's a bad move.
