Kell Brook - 3rd best P4P boxer in the UK. Nice. Is Eddie paying them to write that ****? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/british_rankings/default.stm
The BBC are awful indeed. They once said Joe Calazghe was the greatest ever British boxer, with Lewis in 5th behind Naz
Kell Brook should never be that high, who has he beaten? He should be behind Burns, Cleverly, Macklin, possibly murray and barker too...
Here was the last p4p top 10 we did ... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329045&highlight=british+pound+for+pound Probably time for another one.
This would be mine, Mo'ster; 1: Carl Froch 2: Amir Khan 3: Ricky Burns 4: Nathan Cleverly 5: Kevin Mitchell 6: Martin Murray 7: Kell Brook 8: Rendell Munroe 9: Matthew Macklin 10: George Groves Just off the top of my head really, only the top 3 are solid. EDIT: I've now edited this post 3 times in a minute. I'm so indecisive.
:good after the world champions in the top 4 it gets tough. Mine would go... 1. Froch 2. Khan 3. Burns 4. Cleverly 5. Afolabi 6. Barker 7. Brook 8. Mitchell 9. Groves 10. Fury Macklin, John & Martin Murray, Munroe, DeGale & Chisora deserve a mention.
Martin Murray is ridiculously high on that list off the back of a draw with Sturm. I'd even have Barker & Macklin above him still as Britains top 2 middleweights- the Spada win for Barker as well as Macklin's previous better quality of opponent & getting an equally controversial decision vs Sturm are better than anything Murray has on his record IMO.
A good few times a year that BBC list gets brought up it's always a joke, I can remember debating on there 606 forum when calzaghe fought lacy
Haha! Yeah mate, there were some funny characters on there, remember londonringrules? I think steeltown and tommyv came over from there aswell, I was running the monthly league on there for a bit.
Aye, agree on Murray being too high. It was really just a top of the head effort and could definately be improved.
