Buchanan simply went on too long and suffered losses to guys he would have desroyed at his peak.

I doubt Calzaghe could have taken the middleweight version of Duran 13 rounds when he was well past his best..... and remember KB fought the near unbeatable LW version and was stopped by being punched in the stones....

It just seems stange that Calzaghe gets stick for winning while other fighters, get credit for losing...

I've never really classed him as British, but if he is then he's #1 without doubt.

I know exactly what Ken did...Ortiz was shot, Laguna was past prime but it was impressive, his greatest other accomplishment is taking a beating.

Other then that Calz resume and acheivements are more impressive...no doubt

Calzaghe beats the middleweight Duran, all day long.

Buchanan took a beating from Duran, that in no ways justifies i higher rating than calz

yes Joe would beat the MW/SMW Duran. However, to say 'Laguna was past his best' in your previous response.....what were B-Hop (not saying it wasn't a great win) and Jones???

I take it that you've seen both Laguna - Buchanan fights? When did stay at home Joe ever go to the lions den to take a title...i'll save you the bother, never :deal

Buchanan pisses all over Calzaghe from an achievement point of view

When did Roy Jones Jr go to the lions den to take a title? When did Sugar Ray Leonard go to the lions den to take a title? I spose Buchannen should be ranked higher than those guys...

I've seen the first fight, i'm not saying Laguna wasn't a great boxer when Buchanan when he fought him, but he wasn't the same guy from the mid 60s. And how exactly is fighting a guy from Panama in Puerto Rico the lions den? The crowd wasn't exactly baying for Kens blood

Beating Bhop is a greater win the the Laguna win, Bhop is still at a higher level then Laguna was when Buchanan beat him, its a greater win.

Yes Laguna was past his past....as was Bhop, however, Bhop is still performing at the very top level.

Jones was shot, i've never said he wasn't, thats why I only rate is as the 5th best win of Calz career
