Two hits tonight - 8-9pm BBC London 94.9: Mark Prince on his career, his future career and the death of his son, Kiyan. Ron Boddy on the amateurs, Ronald McIntosh on fights falling out of bed and Miles Templeton, historian, on the famous Ring venue in South London. 9-10pm BBC Five Live: David Haye on his fight with you-know-who. Kalle Sauerland on the German heavyweight business. Amir Khan and James DeGale on their futures and the boo boys. Adios.
make sure it on iPlayer Buncey..... what sort of listeners is the bbc london boxing hour getting compared to other shows around that time?
yeah i worked that out nowatsch the woman filling in for Buncey just read out my email on BBC London which seemed weird she didnt make the best effort answering either and just went into a bit about how big Valuev was looking forward to 5 live as that is a cracking show
What are we making of the Khan interview? "I was just special in that way, I was better than most guys that turn professional" "I know for a fact I'm a better world champion than Carl Froch and the like...they're jealous of me..."
I've always stuck up for Khan despite the amount of stick he gets from some quarters, but I've finally had enough of him. Moaning about not getting the recognition he deserves when he's hardly done anything of note bar pick up an ABC belt. Sure the Kotelnik win was decent, but he's been very handsomely rewarded for his achievements and had a lot of recognition. He's received a lot more recognition than Junior Witter ever got for beating the same guy. Khan can take his hard done by tales elsewhere as far as I'm concerned. For the first time I hope he gets beat next time out.
