    this is very good news to give calzaghe`s acheivements exposure.

    i do not know the viewing figures but they would have been small , and now with the bbc showing it, he will get the public recognition he deserves for the victory.

    Hamilton is no the Beeb either. Joe has beaten Lacy and now Kessler, but that is not the same league as Tszyu and potentially Mayweather, even non boxing fans would get that.

    Only losers win the sports personality. Having said that Lewis Hamilton would have won even if he had won, for obvious reasons. F1 by the way is not shown on BBC either, so that is not the reason as someone mentioned earlier that boxers never win it.

    Has a boxer ever been sports personality of the year? Did Bruno win it once?

    Not sure about Frank Bruno but Lennox Lewis and Barry McGuigan have both won it.
