So who has Haye fought then? And were you calling Lacy overrated before Calzaghe embarrassed him? Calzaghe was also nowhere near his prime when he beat Eubank don't forget and he was still only 31. The Thompson fight at Crusier also shows that Eubank was not past it when he fought Joe. And I wouldn't call Reid, Mitchell, Brewer and Sheika bums also, they were very good fighters.
After all these years you can't talk decent when disagreeing. Just because I differ doesn't mean I'm biased to say I'm riding someones dick. Yeah and you favoured Lacy being duped like the rest of them when I said to all he was getting a beating. Haye at world level was only devastating against Macca, he was down against Mormeck and was taking alot of straight shots and bullied back and was relieved when he finally Ko'ed JMM. His performances at Cruiser have been on and off where he has looked bad when he couldn't hurt the guys early and went Into the later rounds. If Haye doesn't hurt them early, he's uncomfortable and made to work. There Is no case, Calzaghe has cleaned out 12stone with 21 defences winning all the major titles while dominating, too early for Haye yet. If you want to judge so much off paper and talent It's no contest.
Yes i was. Back then im pretty sure you never posted on these boards. Its common knowledge i called the Lacy fight but it didnt take a genius to do that considering his style and inexperience.Dont try and make it into anything more than what it was. As for Joes prime i disagree. If you`d been watching Joe over the years his style hasnt changed at all. He was much faster in his youth and gave Eubank hell for 12 rounds. By the time Eubank and Joe fought Eubank was well past it physically. The box puncher that we saw at 54 and 160 was long gone and replaced by a posing imposter. In his subsequent fights he lost both 2 Thompson and retired. Now Mitchell Brewer etc were good B level guys but Joe in those days refused to face or simply avoided bigger challenges. I cant count the amount of fights that simply fell through were mooted or just didnt happen for one reason or another. His name was linked to everyone who was someone from 160 to 75. Joe was even mooted to participate in the middleweight tourney with Harry Simon B Hop Tito etc. Guess what he didnt. He just made more defences of the WBO in Wales. So before you start trawling Boxrec to peruse through Joes record take the time to watch his fights and his career rather than blowing the same old tired record.
I never go on that site and I've been watching Joe since probably before you even knew about him mate so don't go down that avenue. Regarding the MW tourney, he could never get down to 160 so forget that straight away. His style has altered over the years if you knew anything about him due to his weakness in his hands, if you remember he used to go out looking for the KO early on in his career until he realized his career would be cut way too short. See the Delaney fight as an example of how he's altered.
You are clearly blinded by your hate of Calzagheatsch.. I have followed these boards for many years and posted under various names (lost passwords when upgrading computer in the past) and you have always been the same biased bitter little man.
They said Hop could could never make 154 at 40 years of age. He made 56 and then a few years later rose to 75 and beat Tarver convingly. Joe used to say he couldnt make 68. He had a fight booked with Johnson which was postponed twice. That fight never happend. 3 years later his still making 68. Weight is a paltry excuse. The bottom line is when it mattered it never happened. Now it is common knowledge that Joe has hand problems. But that made no diffrence to when he fought Brewer and went toe to toe.Nor made any diffrence when he faced Sheika.Joe has always been an aggresive offensive first fighter. Like i said that has NOT changed.
I don't think we can compare Eubank with Mormeck. Mormeck was Cruiserweight champion and Eubank wasn't even WBO champion (correct me if I'm wrong but I think the belt was vacant)
You tried to do a camparasion to how long It took before they fought these guys though. Mormeck gave Haye fits while Joe schooled Eubank and knocked him down.
And It's argued that Eubank won while has a loss to Thompson. Calzaghe's clearly no 1 though In British P4p.
Just thought I'd jump in the Delorean and bring back some boxing gold. Check out the top 10 chaps....
