The only answer really. The gap between Lewis and the rest is huge in terms of accomplishments.

Who you put after him is interesting though. There's a reasonable argument that Fury and Joshua have already surpassed everyone else, based on beating a legitimate ATG (who still has plenty left in the tank).

It's actually quite eye-opening when you go through the records of British heavyweights and note the lack of quality wins against world-class opposition. If you put together a list of top 10 wins by British heavyweights, Lewis would probably have at least half of it to himself.

(disregarding Fitzsimmons for the moment, seeing as he was really a middleweight, and didn't regard himself as a British boxer ....)

I'd definitely have Fury at #2 behind Lewis.
His win over an 11-year unbeaten, 9-year title-holding recognized linear/unified champion puts him clear above the rest, I reckon.

Joshua's currently in the mix to be considered for #3, alongside Farr, Bugner and Bruno. I feel he'll surpass all of those if he develops as he should.
Hopefully whether he surpasses Fury or not will be decided in the ring.

No need for that. I completely accept that We in Ireland have had a heavyweight famine. But we are a small island of 5,000,000. Britan has what 70,000,000?
Overall we Irish are pound for pound way ahead. If you want to be petty and you want to keep league tables, historically when top Irish boxers meet their British counterparts....the Irishman tends to win. Fact.

Born and grew up in West Ham, moved to Canada aged 12 and represented them in the Ams through the college system. Not rocket science.
