Kandi "Krush" Wyatt hails from Calgary, Alberta, Canada...coming off three losses on the spin and most recently appearing in the ring in a TKO7 loss to Jessica McCaskill in 2021.

Hometown heroine (Wolverhampton born) Kirstie "Bavvo" Bavington is the reigning EBU female welterweight titlist, but this contest is for the vacant WBA intercontinental women's title.

 

Sloppy opener. 10-9 Bavvo, bullied the Canuck into the ropes as they both sprayed haymakers at each other until colliding into clinches, probably scored a touch more downstairs.

 

They both look gassed already in the second.

All leveled up now, 38-all. Wyatt despite being on a roll (pumping out straights and then ducking the counters) has an uncontrollable nose bleed, but Bavington badly winded.

 

10-9 and 48-47 Wyatt, may be a second consecutive West Midlands favorite getting (mildly) upset.

 

Wyatt busting her gal up now with short uppercuts leaning in. Bavington holding a lot, doing some ill-advised experimentation with going southpaw, and lunging in with shots that roll off the arms.

Commentators inexplicably give her the round, thinking she "forced the action".

Bavington throwing like mad but knackered, her aim way off. At one point Wyatt stuffed four consecutive hammering lefts into her gob, unanswered.

This is following almost exactly the script as Owen vs. Stephenson before it (local fave wins the first two and then lets the visitor with the better gas tank scratch their way in, getting outhustled and outlanded for a long stretch...all we need is Bavington to rally in the last round and it'll be a mirror image of that fight)
