Just practice your bobbing and weaving when taking shots, and creating openings. You don't have to go all out angry. Practice your head movement, timing, and footwork, it all comes.

It depends whether you want to or not, going toe to toe means you are most likely inside their range.

However if your not comrfotable with that. get in range, throw 2-3 shorts, then back out, hovering at the end of his range.

I love going toe to toe, I want that, thats where i feel safe and good, thats my place, my area,

My coach keeps telling me to punch, then step back, Why? Can't i move forward like joe dodge punch again, if they decide to go toe to toe thats where i feel im best... I don't mind taking hits getting in there, But all this stepping back crap is making me get hit more then i would normally,

    So stressed, atm folks =/

I mean stepping back puts me back in there range to get hit, and i have to work my way into there chest again, Instead when i could move forward toe to toe, move forward, exc,

Surly its best for a short fighter to be on the other guys chest instead of back where the taller fighter jabs are flying in...

have you thought about talking to your coach, tell him your concerns maybe he will explain why he wants you to get in and out....maybe he can see something you cant?

Yeah just tell him you don't want to step back as your within range and in motion.
