I'm not to sure about that. Holyfield could take shots as well as dish them. Can't say the same about Wlad. He can dish them, but how many can he take before getting floored? Prime for Prime Wald gets KO mid to late in the fight.
Wlad only looked indestructible against limited opposition like Peter and a crafty, but featherfisted Byrd. Holyfield would wear Wlad down and beat him. So would Bowe, even a prime Michael Moorer. Post Lennox Lewis retirement, heavyweight division just stank, it was bad, not in a good way.
He would probably made Vlad punk out and quit of his stool. Once Holy got inside and started throwing those combinations Vlad would be looking to his corner trying to find a way out. Stewart would be, "Don't look at me fool. You want to be a fighter, then fight"! :rofl
Some will make the argument that Wlad only ever got stopped by heavies that were proportionately large for the division like himself (Brewster, Purritty and Sanders at one, two, and three inches over six feet respectively - all in at least the mid-220's in weight) and that Holyfield is an up-jumped Cruiser with no big HW KO power - but meh. Chagaev is under six feet and bagged a couple rounds off Wlad. Chambers & Byrd are just slightly over and they had some of the biggest moments of success en route to defeat of any of Wlad's victims in world title bouts. Povetkin had Dr. Steelhammer clinging on fearfully after landing a few shots, and he's considered of a size with Holyfield. Speaking of whom, you don't smoke Bert Cooper, render Buster Douglas unconscious early, stop a game unbeaten Stewart, beat the brakes off Pink Man and Quick Tillis (knockdowns or no), force Lewis to clinch most of the night, stagger George freaking goddamn Foreman numerous times, deck Moorer half a dozen times over both encounters, drop Bowe hard in the rubber match with a crisp left hook, use that same punch to drop the durable Mercer, or drop, repeatedly wobble, and ultimately stop a mid-nineties Tyson - if you don't pack a real HW punch. :deal
:good and he did all that with a defective life threatening hole in his heart. He would have been even more awesome if they had plugged that hole. :yep
Holyfield handled Lewis, Bowe, and Tyson. He could handle Wladimir Klitschko. No way would that be a lopsided fight. They are both top ten H2H ATGs.
I'll go with this. It would be competitive, I give Wlad a 60/40 favorite, but it won't be easy. Lewis also struggled with Holyfield more than he should have.
