I didn't expect that to happen but I wasn't suprised. I always knew it was distinctly possible, Hattons chin hasn't looked good lately & we all knew Pac had the power as well as the speed, accuracy & timing to land a KO punch. That said I am very disappointed in Hatton for not lasting longer & putting up a decent fight. After all these years of boxing you'd think he'd improve his defence a bit.
These are my 2 favorite's of the current fighters (along with Cotto), and I thought Hatton would win this (and with relative ease I might add in humilty) around the 7th. Now i don't think Hatton is in his prime as he was going into the PBF fight, but he was still fighting at a high level. No way did I see anyone at 140 destroying him this way. While I rate Pac highly I did not think the win over DLH meant that much (now I am not so sure???), and did not think he would be strong enough at this weight. hats of to Pac, and I guess I will remain the only Hatton fan in the States!
I started to feel real bad when I saw pictures of the weigh inn. From that point I new Pac would win. Still I did think TKO 10. Hatton looked different then usual. He looked skinny.
It was on at 4 in the morning here, and I said I would hate if I stayed up and it lasted one round. Well it didn't, but I actually thought it would go the distance. Manny is a modern phenomenon.
