Canelo would have been better off fighting Kirkland, Vanes or Molina

 

I might give the main event a miss but ill be sure to watch the undercard

 

really? For some reason those match ups don't interest me. Maidana is either going to be outboxed or land his big punch. De Leon will probably be outboxed or land his big punch (but to be fair, he might be able to box with Jhonny). Alvarez will both outbox and land his big punch. I don't feel this card too much.

 

I honestly don't know that Vanes is a better opponent than Josesito.

I think Doc is Canelo's father or DLH, he is the only fan or two validating this fight, not even in Mexico they believe in this fight, I came from solobox... and there's an overwhelming response against this fraud of a fight, and 99% of the poster were Mexicans.

 

hmm I guess. I just wish Madaina and De Leon had shown a bit more speed in their losing/frustrated efforts, then I would probably be super hyped as well. (In the back of my mind they seem like the type who can be in a Floyd-Baldomir situation, looking to land). They don't seem like Morales-Barrera/Castillo-Corrales type match ups to me, but I could be wrong.

 

True but have you seen Matthysse and Gonzalez? Neither is going to want to box cutely with them and exploit their speed advantage (and neither is exactly Willie Pep in there)

Both have a warring mentality. They'll willingly slug it out with Maidana and Ponce De Leon, so the slowness of the latter two won't be an issue.

 

Only in the sense that they're not doing Canelo any favors by undermatching him. THis will not help to prepare him for when he steps it up.

From a business standpoint this was brilliant move. Josesito has higher name recognition thanks to his victory over Ortiz and the fact that everyone is bitching about this fight will make Canelo a bigger name. Controversy, for good or bad, sells:deal

 

That's right they need to fight the best and Josecito is not the best at 154, the kid has never even tested those waters. Lopez said right after his fight with Ortiz that 154 was way to big and he was not ready for that. He didn't even have to think about it. But now I'm sure after waving $$$ in his face he will step up.

It's a step backwards for Canelito. Austin Trout is way more deserving, he beat Canelos brother, let Canelo avenge his brothers loss. So many other 154 that have paid their due for a shot and they are going with a natural 140 pounder.

All credit due to Josecito for taking out Ortiz, but he shouldn't of even been considered and opponent for Canelo. Josecito has not developed his body to be fighting at that weight.

Of coarse size has a lot to do this it, Look at what happened when Marquez stepped up and fought Mayweather don't tell me size had nothing to do with that loss. Mayweathers jabs were like power shots. Marquez will usually risk getting in on an opponent and taking a shot of two to get his shots in. But he couldn't even do that against Floyd, due to the advantage in size.

 

Peep that undercard. (even as it stands now, nevermind what Doc is suggesting...)

 

Lopez won't stand a chance but he will not fight defensively just to lose by UD.
He won't go down without a fight.
Matthijsse-Maidana and Gonzales-PDL will be tremendously action packed.
The guy who destroyed Linares can have a good fight against anybody.He is a natural born attacking steamroller.
One of the best cards of the past 5 years for entertainment and quality.
Are these fights free on CBS?It will hurt Top Rank even more.
