Nice one mate, and good luck! You've got a good attitude. Being a 'better' boxer means **** all, it only takes one good shot. Let them come forward for a start, but don't get trapped or let them jump on you. If they come in too quick try keep them off until you can move forward yourself and apply pressure. then don't stop. But if their moving round, or in and out flicking jabs, don't chase them to begin with, be patient. But when you do go for it, don't stop until one of you is on the deck. Rough the **** up as much as possible. Its not gonna work everytime mate, but **** it, it makes good fights and will certainly toughen you up. Your a young lad yeah? We used to spar/fight like this in the army, and its always gonna be a 50/50 thing, like i say it takes just one good shot but it works both ways. Winning by knockout is a brilliant feeling, but you have to be able to shrug off the losses as just one of those things too. Who wants to see 2 lads mincing about throwing weak shots, cos their scared of getting too close? **** that, get stuck in! Stay loose before your bout to relieve the tension and like i say, just go for it. Good luck mate, hope you win :good
What's so funny? He's an amateur going into his first fight, at this level the other guy being a better boxer means **** all. I assumed he ment the other guy would have more experience etc, so would 'technically' be a better boxer, but it means **** all if he cant take a punch does it.
7 hours to go. Im nervous cos i dont know what to eat. I need some pasta!!!! Bananas give me gas so that wont be fun....
I'll be the lame one to say Character and Persistance. Goodluck mate, dont worry too much it will be over quick you will hardly realize where the time went.
Lol come on mate I know you're trying to gee him up but let's not get carried away Of course being the better boxer gives you an advantage
Nah i don't agree mate, not at this level anyway. Their amateurs, with the nerves and everything, just going in there and jumping on the guy could be enough to swing the fight his way. If he was talking about boxing a guy with 10 years experience in his first outing then yeah i'd agree. But at this level, no. I mean, the guy he's up against may have better footwork, lateral movement etc but if he cant take a shot then being 'better' means **** all. I'm not getting into this anyway, as we know next to **** all about the lad, he might not have a dig on him, or the bollocks to go for it. Has he posted back yet anyway, anybody know how he got on?
