On November 8th Joe Calzaghe will officially have the better resume of beaten elite fighters and also no losses to his name.He will cement himself as a greater boxer than Roy Jones ever was.Fighting tomato cans for 9 years than getting blasted by Johnson and Tarver isnt much of a career when we are talking about ELITE fighters.Sorry but these are cold hard facts.

Hopkins was 43, Eubank was close to retirement, and Jones hasn't beaten a ranked fighter in 5 years.

Toney was considered by virtually everyone as the 2nd best P4P fighter in the sport behind Whitaker and was in his prime at his best weightclass. Hopkins had not quite reached his prime but he was still an excellent fighter then and Roy won 9-3.

The level of the "tomato cans" you mentioned on Jones' resume are clearly superior to those on Calzaghe's.

I have to agree with the initial post, Hopkins, Eubank, Jones, Kessler, points towards a better resume....

    No.

Jones resume is lacking the depth his amazing peak H2H talent deserved, however the wins over Hopkins and Toney (and also the performances here) still take him above most from this era.

the cold hard facts are that he beat an old eubank, hopkins and jones.

criticising jones for getting blasted by johnson and tarver after he had reigned on the world stage for so long is pretty hypocritcal when calzaghe chose never to put himself in the spotlight - which would have put him in a position to fight jones and hopkins in their prime.

if he'd have done that and won, i'd agree with you.

This is a calzaghe hater's alias designed to fuel calzaghe hate.

    Or a nutball.

    Either way don't humour him.

dont just look at the names. look at when he fought them.

it's also very important to be a fighter who reigns on the world stage (something i keep having to say) because if you stay away from the US and PPV fights, then you limit your global appeal.

as soon as a fighter limits himself like this he will always be a high risk low reward fight and won't get to fight the guys that can make him great.
