Beating Kelly Pavlik would not prove anything new about Calzaghe..

A win over Pavlik would be a very nice win, even though Pavlik's style should be very easy for Calzaghe but still he deserves credit for it.

 

exactly, if he beats Dawson people will say whos Dawson, who did he beat?.....just like Lacy.

 

First and foremost: it would be a great fight. And a important victory to Joe's career.

But fighting Jones would mean much more to his legacy even if it would be a less dramatic (and less one-sided) fight.

 

No one can deny how threatening Lacy was back then till Calzaghe had to prove otherwise, though some poeple do but they're only hardcore haters. I'm no Calzaghe fan and actually a big-time Lacy fan and it's hard to deny that even though I don't really like Calzaghe that much.

 

Lacy was/is a limited fighter. Very few thought that Lacy would win a dec. many did however think that Lacy would stop Joe, and I was one of them. Pavlik is another story because he can win a dec over Joe.

joe is either very unlucky, or maybe even very smart depending on how you look at it as he is either fighting fresh champions like kessler, lacy, pavlik etc, or over the hill guys like jones, eubank, and hopkins.

 

It would certainly impress me if he beat Pavlik

 

Pavlik has a 20% chance against Calzaghe. It lies in Pavlik stopping a fading Cal.

Pavlik has relatively speaking no chances of a decision win. He will need homejudging times 10 of what Holyfield had against Lewis.

It should prove a lot to a number of myopic americans.

It woudl also be fun, I hope it happens sometime.

 

And what would beating an old ass grandpa prove? Not a mutha****ing thing because the sad reality for all Joe nuthuggers out there is is that Joe may end up beating Popkins but would be molested by about every other top contender or champ at 175.....Hopkins is a farce....get over it....He has almost the amount of hype and an equal amount of credibility in the division as PBF....they both are nothing....non-entities in their division or the sport for that matter

If that is directed at my post, I dont think the Hopkins fight will prove much either. Hop is too old now.

Pavlik would probably be outboxed like Kessler, provded it happens within a few years. Its not like nobody has tried to beat him with straight shots before.

Dawson would be very interesting. I'd love to see that.

 

Your right I mean Calzaghe has had 44 fights and beaten 2 good fighters meanwhile Pavlik acheived that feat in one year....so it took Pavlik 1 year to accomplish what Calzaghe took 11 years to accomplish....so the Unified Cardiff Ice Rink Champion would beat Pavlik?
Keep dreaming because your hero only fights cabdrivers and old men. Joe would never step to the plate to fight a serious champion...**** it probably took the urging of his friends and family to fight Kessler
