    Timing is everything in boxing. Getting your man at the rigth moment.

    As for Calzaghe I don't think you can criticise him for Hopkins when he's still running aorund beating many of the top fighters of the day. Jones, well, always a bad fight. Jones has his die-hard devotees... Also he was obviously as up for the fight as he could be. Basically Jones was a good contender with a few tricks up his sleeve.

    Depends on the condition of the fighter.Marciano beat a Louis, though old,was still functionable, and the Armstrong that Ray Robinson beat was shot.

    I can't agree TB...When I saw Ray Robinson toy with Henry Armstrong at MSG in 1943, Henry Armstrong was but 31 years old, past his peak but still able to win 17 out of his last 22 bouts,incuding 10 ko's. Joe Louis, on the other hand was an old THIRTY SEVEN year old shot fighter when he was kod by Rocky Marciano in his last bout. Five years older than Armstrong was against the unbeatable Ray Robinson, was Joe Louis...
