Became a fan?

    Has anyone else become a fan of a fighter after seeing them in a fight.

    Happend with me after seeing Froch vs Pascal.

    Froch is one of my favourite fighters, mainly because he is English. but in that fight Pascal showed tremendous heart. he got caught cold really early on, but was willing to stand and trade. by round 11 it was obvious he had fought the wrong fight and was behind on the cards, but he still fought his heart out.

    He might have lost the fight, but he won me over.

    I don't get this question. How can you become a fan of a fighter before seeing them fight?

    i'd seen pascal a couple of times, never thought much of his.

    i mean like when you see a fight and straight away a guy wins you over.

    i bet ward got a lot of fans after his first fight with gatti

    yea i know but isn't it obvious?

    anyways I became a big fan of Marquez after his 2nd loss to Pac. I became a big fan of Barrera after he beat Hamed.

    Im not a fan of Valero but I have plenty of respect for the guy after the DeMarco fight.

    I never watched a fight of Sergio Martinez before. When KP VS PW was off Sergio replaced pavlik on relativily short notice, so I didn't think much of him until I saw him fight. Damn what speed in and out and especially that left hook. Now I'm thrilled for the Pavlik VS Martinez fight:cool:

    You missed the point. You asked:

    and the point he was making was why else would you become a fan other than seeing them fight? How many boxers that you haven't seen fight are you a fan of? For most people it's none.

    The answer to your question is that pretty much every boxer anyone is a fan of is because they saw them fight and liked them.

    Valero was going to be my recent choice as well. Not as much because of the cut but more so because of his boxing ability, that I wasnt aware he really had. Tough dude

    bute vs andrade 2, i wanted andrade to destroy bute after what happened in there first fight.
    bute ends up blasting andrade, i feel sad for librado but im also in awe of what bute did, that fight but bute in the number 6 spot in my current top 10
