Does beef blood really have nutritional value?

I remember Robinson raving about it in his autobiography.

Has this be disproven since then?

Probably more detriment than value. The value is in the psychological impression it leaves.

Robinson said it was one of the most nutritious things going.

I haven't heard of many other fighters drinking it.

They also used to recommend sugary sodas to enhance a child's "energy" and smoking was thought to be a safer alternative to chewing tobacco for ballplayers, and they were encouraged to switch for their health.

Blood and meat are much of a muchness. The Masai in east Africa drink a mixture of blood and milk. No problems.

We're talking nutrition, not whether a boxing culture exists in a given society.
