He also said Calzaghe was just an ok fighter, and that Audley Harrison is destined to be Heavyweight champ someday. I dont think Foremans opinions are worth much, do you?

Trying to choose Lewis' prime is a hard feat, because he fought differently throughout his career. And I have watched his entire career, I bought the dvd, and yes he is amazing. But he is not a top 5 or top 10 all time heavy to me. He looked great at time and only good others. People who I would favor over him would be Louis, Ali, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield, Foreman, Johnson,

He also says that "Ali was the greatest man ever to have boxed" but "Louis is the greatest heavyweight of all time". George contracted verbal diarrhea shortly after his grill came out.

Vitali was out on his feet at the end of the 6th rd. He had to hold onto lewis`s waist after being hit to the temple and staggered across to the ring post where he didnt lift his arms to protect himself or throw anything back as Lewis tagged him with uppercuts at the bell, the ref had a good look at that moment and the state Vitali was in.
If you thnk punching the opponent and cutting him is lucky then lets say that every ko punch ever landed must be lucky also! Vitali had 2 cuts above the eye, one cut below the eye, his lips were split open, he was out on his feet, the doctor satopped the fight, he didnt outfight Lewis, he lost.

Nice post, I agree with most of this. I pick Lewis to batter Holmes though.

Lewis was 33 when he fought the 36 year old Holyfield, 34 in the rematch and Holyfield just turned 37.

Lewis was 37 years and 9 months old when he faced the 31 year old "Prime" Klitschko,

THE 2 CASES ARE RATHER DIFFERENT!

I would pick lewis over most liston and ali i think would give him the most trouble, i think louis had the skills but he had a worse chin than lewis and might have ended up getting koed.

Louis did have a testy chin; however his powers of recovery are basically unparalleled at the weight. Many wouldn't have been able to get up after the Braddock uppercut, never mind the Schmeling beating. Louis basically fought 9 rounds unconscious in that fight.

lol look at that we have the same guys

    I have

    Ali
    Louis
    Holmes
    Liston
    Tyson
    Lewis

Tysons aura was just so strong..although Lewis could have really given him problems with that size difference

I fully accept that but when lewis had a guy hurt he could put in the finish i just don't like louis's chin against the overhand right or the big uppercut.

I rate louis a decent amount higher on my atg list but i think lewis has a good chance of beating him. Joe louis never came up against anything like LL where as lewis beat holyfield and tyson both samller atg fighters.

Prime lewis rapes Tyson. Tyson always looses when he doesn't get respect in the ring.

Lewis wasn't even the best of his era, let alone top five of all time!!! He is one of the most overrated fighters in recent years, as this thread is ample testimony to. Great, yes - but not as great as some seem to think. :-(

Rather different how? In the rematch Holy was 37 years, 1 month and Lewis never fought again after 37 years, 9 months. The big difference here is that Lewis was not as shot. To put Lewis' victory over Holy in perspective, Holy went 1-1-1 against John Ruiz in his next 3. After that, he only won one fight before losing his license and that was a technical decision because he used his head to almost ko Rahman.
