On the decision to train at Steward's camp in the Poconos.

    Before:

"It's been the greatest decision I ever made. There's nothing to do but box. It's all-day boxing. I love it."

"Everything's going good. We're right on schedule."

" It's like home, you know? I'm from the country. All the trees and stuff. I can go fishing when I want to. It's like home."

    After:

"To be honest with you, this was a big decision. I felt like I wasn't trained hard the last fight, I felt like it was all about conditioning. I did my part. I did what I was supposed to do. When it came to sparring in that ring, I felt like I needed a lot more sparring, and they didn't give it to me. I always felt like I needed more, more rounds sparring."

A boxer rarely wants to believe that he was knocked out for reasons directly related to himself.

Ok, so Emanuel Steward is to blame? 'Does Jermaine realize Manny is universally recognized as one of the greatest trainers ever?

Taylor just cant accept the fact that he has been on the wane for a while, and he can only point the finger at others, whereas he should be taking a long hard look at himself, he needs to motivate himself and get in the right frame of mind

Taylor lacks a brain. That's why he's not trainable.

I don't think he's insulting Steward at all. Some fighters just respond better to different methods of training and if Steward and Taylor weren't meshing as a unit by all means find a trainer you feel more effective with.

emanuel steward is only good for a certain type of fighter, he cant stray from that formula, and anyone that isnt tall or not a boxer first, will suffer under him

I think that is so true.

And people might have to consider the possibility that Steward has lost some of that desire to train and that might've rubbed off on to Taylor. I'm not saying that was the case but just leaving open that possibility.

Not uncommon for a fighter to have a hard time accepting there first loss.

I think Manny was giving him terrible advice in the corner. I realize that only pieces of the instruction were heard in between rounds, but you did hear, I thought was off base. " He's not used to this workrate." "He beginning to tire." Not once did you hear him say, keep that f'n left hand up.

In the Spinks fight, he was telling JT exactly what he should be telling him which is to simply cut off the ring and start throwing. And once he felt his power, the fight would be completely different. JT didn't listen.

What are your thoughts about what he said in the KP v JT fight? IMO, he gave terrible instructions. I'm not trying to discredit Manny, he's been doing it for a long time, but in this fight, he was off.
