The only shame is that we possibly have only two more chances to see Joe fight and whether you question his record or whatever, he IS a phenominal fighting machine and a joy to watch

if joe boxes sensibly then he wins a 11-1/10-2 decision without too much bother.

but does joe accept nigels invatation to a brawl? if so then nige is in with a shot. not a big one as i feel joe's hand speed would just be too much and befuddle benn, but if it came down to a battle of wills and heart and benn could make it messy ala bika then joe may find himself in some very deep waters.

You hit the nail on the head. Some people would rather just focus on the negative things, though. I think it makes them feel better.

When you're discussing a 44 fight resume and all you can come with is 3 names and a win in the amateurs it's time to concede the argument :rofl

even though it was a random comment, he did knock byrd out in the amateurs in italy in the early 90's.

Nobody's denying he's a GREAT fighter........If we did a "quote" machine on Glen Johnson, Tito, Oscar DeLaHoya, Roy Jones, Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright, Antonio Tarver, ALL champion P4P types (besides Johnson and Calzaghe pulled out of a fight with him). Antwan Echols is on the level of Calzaghe's competition sans Kessler, he's pretty good..

Point I'm making is while I agree that Calzaghe is GREAT, it's like since his comp has left something to be desired, you're trying to convince people that he's legendary.....

As the legendary Jay-Z said "We don't believe you, we need more people."

I think he beat Byrd in the amateurs. Don't you remember the 'Joe is right up there with Ray Robinson' thread the day after the fight?
