True. Brickhaus, we need to stop agreeing on everything, or people will start to think you are my alias.
oh? was lacy deemed p4p top 5 (in some ridiculous lists ive seen top 3!)??? what has pavlik done? beat taylor - who many rated a fraud before that fight, got knocked silly in second round, then managed to ko him in the 7th. well done, but thats ONE decent win, he then beat him in the rematch - however i remember at the time MANY had taylor winning the rematch - there was a poll with something like 54 to taylor, 46 to pavlik. he then beats Gary Lockett (3rd best middleweight britain has to offer) - and suddenly he's top 5 p4p? hell he's done nothing to deserve top 10, i'd say top 15 is best he can really hope for. Miranda is overrated and not that great of a win, and thats Pavliks resume - there is nothing below that!
He beat (2x) an inspired and "A" level Jermain Taylor. I think he's the best middleweight in the world. I would like to see him fight Abraham.
All the advertising you mention in the first part of the post does not run contradictory to your first two bullets, as you suggest. :nono One can be hyped and praised at one stage, but be a media creation and a limited slugger. In fact, that is exactly what Jeff Lacy was.
Lacy was certainly hyped, but there was VERY few who had him in the p4p top 10, or even 20, or anything like that.
Pavlik wasn't really hyped that much before he beat Miranda.. Lacy was hyped immediately after the Olympics as the new little ''Tyson'':rofl
