Hello every, I'm new to the forum and boxing. So, I have been toying with the idea of learning how to box. My main focus is learning the sport and getting in shape. I won't lie thought, I do want to compete in the ring at some point as well. However, I will like a realistic outlook at what I'm potentially getting myself into.
You've got to be dedicated and apply yourself properly first and foremost. It's dangerous to be half hearted in a sport like boxing. You'll get hurt. And don't get disheartened and discouraged quick either, if you are new to the sport it will take time so stick it out and do your best. I'm sure you know it's not going to be easy but it's the greatest sport in the world Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
you're on a good track. set goals and focus on what's directly in front of you. what i'm hearing is ... short term goal -get in shape -learn boxing long term goal -compete there's a lot of journey to be taken between your short and long term goals. don't let your concerns for the long term goal deter you from the short term. when you find a responsible coach/gym there's nil chance of you getting hurt "learning" boxing (standing in front of a mirror, or heavy bag) and getting in shape.
It's a dumb sport. You could get seriously injured or hurt. People are going to be landing punches on your head. That's the real truth.
