before you criticize Linares for taking on a weak opponent in his last fight

    take into consideration that he was inactive for 12 months, and that he was moving up in weight.

    just saw the fight. Linares looked sloppy and his timing was off. In the 4th he starts putting it together and in the 5th he knocks the guy out.

    poor performance by his standards. Definately needed a tuneup

    and he was fighting a guy that was koed in the first round by Edwin Valero.

    no doubt, a very weak opponent, but like i said its just a tuneup fight.

    the problem is why does he need a tuneup for?

    he probably didnt even need to train to beat that bum.


    and this was for a "title" :patsch :patsch :patsch

    thats an insult to the likes of Hagler,Moore,Charles etc who had to wait so long to get a world title shot when they had already beat most of the top contenders in theyre division.

    it was for a title and thats major bull****. But on the plus side now that he has a title he may be forced to up his level of competition.
