Hi guys. New to the forum so firstly would like to say hello.

I am currently thinking about joining a local boxing gym to lose a bit of weight and get fit.

I am 33 years old and currently weigh about 13 stone (182 lbs). I am 5ft 9'' so am looking to lose about 20lbs ideally.

I currently run 3-4 times a week and do about 4-5 miles each time at 8 min mile pace so my basic fitness isn't too bad.

I have toiled with the idea of joining my local boxing gym for a while but the fact I cant skip has always put me off. I don't want to look like an idiot infront of all the guys in the gym. Should I get myself a rope and learn myself before going down or should I just go and get it over and done with?

Just do it. Nobody expects you to be good at jumping rope. EVERYBODY was **** at one point.

I was rubbish at skipping and boxing I could barely do any now I do 2-3 minutes stop in between but much better.
Practice and also I lacked confidence I thought people would stare but the boxing has helped my confidence alot
