...Exactly...Duran was 6 months removed from his best career performance, and was actually competitive in the rematch and looked to be in physical shape. ....So...I'm perplexed why we're talking about Mayweather/Mosley.
I'm not even commenting on Duran-Leonard, i haven't compared these fights. Mayweather was walking him down, it's not like he was walking in like Ricky Hatton, walking someone down with hard shots methodically is much a different thing. There's no way he just gassed after his best spell of the fight, it's embarrassing Addie, sorry to be crude, but it is. Mayweather's defence is technically immense at all ranges, it's not like he was fighting like Jack Dempsey. I think it's blatant the shots weren't there for the most part.
And you have the nerve to start your post with those three words, **** off really fast with this attitude please.
He was breathing heavily, and it immediately caught my attention and seemed peculiar to me. That's the last I'll say on that issue, but Shane was obviously hindered by not only his age, but also his inactivity. I think to say the Mosley that took Margarito apart was the exact same guy who fought Floyd is...well...ridiculous.
I wasn't even talking to you any way Teeto. You creep up from your little hole "AWWW SHITT..YOU GOT HIM NOW BABY'. **** off, Teeto. :hi:
Well that's an exaggeration if i've ever seen one, ridiculous? Debatable is the most i'd accept on that point.
We're supposed to believe that Duran was a shell after 6 months coming off his best performance...but Mosley was the same guy after 14-15 months of inactivity...when he's already approaching his late 30s? :think
If it were "simple fact" you wouldn't have completely failed to illustrate it on film, and wouldn't have had to resort to repeatedly distorting my statements, as well as the use of second-hand accounts, tenuous analogies, and "common sense".
You used to be such a nice young man...now though? Just a ****, I suppose it had to happen hanging around with these "holier than thou" characters for such extended periods. PM me when you feel like apologizing.
Addie- I'm not even talking about Duran, i told you we could have made a different thread if you like. Leonard beat him and got my full credit, no question. And on the seeming deterioration of our relationship, i just get nasty when people are nasty to me. I still think you're a quality poster, but if you want to make it a disliking situation between us then whatever.
No, I was picking on your implication that Duran was at his best vs. Benitez and Laing, despite having near a year lay-off post-Orleans, serious battles with making 147, and looking like complete rat-**** in his two performances prior to Benitez - all of which seem to qualify as legitimate excuses for you in the case of Mayweather/Mosley and Pacquiao/DLH, to the point where you're quite happy to rob the winner of any real credit and to reverse the outcome of the bout in a prime-for-prime match-up. Then again, I wouldn't have expected much else from somebody who has admitted to forming his opinions of Duran whilst being completely ignorant of most of the available footage.
You seem to be attributing all the blame on Addie's poor shoulders? When we were disagreeing about Marco Antonio Barrera the other week, you were getting defensive because I kept disagreeing with you. You didn't say well we'll agree to disagree, and you didn't have anything particularly compelling to say regarding the points I made, you just kept going, "Talk about wanting to have the last word". ...Pretty condescending. And now Itrymariti calls me out on a particular issue and you're heard in the background going, "You got him now...I'll get my popcorn". :verysad
So you can't take a 'popcorn' comment lightly? Well i'll know not to mess around with you again mate. I don't know where you got this thing from about the MAB discussion, i was just disagreeing with you, i didn't think i was being a twat til you started calling me one. All your fault haha
I don't think I've ever confidently claimed that a prime Mosley would have defeated a Floyd Mayweather. I'm also of the opinion that Duran was in significantly less condition for the Benitez fight than he had been for previous bouts. If the search function was still available to us, that would soon become apparent because I made a thread about it after first watching their fight. Duran was lackadaisical to say the least, unable to avoid Benitez's long right hands from distance, and couldn't mount any offense himself. It's just the Leonard rematch I have trouble believing he was out of shape. Admittedly, I've acted irresponsibly in the past...I hadn't seen enough Duran footage during those times...a problem that has now been rectified.
