In other news, Altunkaya has now been down 4x and quit twice against by far his best opposition - maybe should find a new line of work or stay in his lane at regional Bavarian level.
He may have got jobbed in the first but 2 bad decisions doesn't bode well. Add in the fact he gets a shot at a 4th version of a WBA cruiserweight title against a guy with no reason to be ranked after 2 years of inactivity. And the fact he got to defend against the likes of Joppy (hadn't won in 3 years) and Orneals certainly leads some credence to the idea that he's had special treatment. I'll add I love seeing fighters fast tracked and was a big fan or Shumenov race to the Light Heavyweight record
Yup since around 13 now 26. I'm going Pro next year around April-may is the plan. What about you? I really want to open up a gym sometime after I graduate college. Ive done mitts etc for years, that's my real goal I want to help other boxers!
Aside from some light sparring, haven't really trained boxing, but I used to run track though. In what division will you debut?
175-200 I fought AM 178 recently but 130's-150's as a kid so I'm more technical than a lot of these guys. I'm going to fight on some small Mexico card, should be fun!
Awesome man! Hope you get the win next spring and once you win a belt, you gonna email it to your buddy Chuck Norris.
Haha! Ill never win a belt, maybe BK belti did recently do pretty we'll in sparring afainst a pro fighter who won a NABO or NABF regional title this year. Cte scares me too much, i think the best Pros start consistently boxing at a younger age take less damage in most cases. Opening up a gym is a big goal of mine though!
Eh...no. I'm hoping this was just a one-off so he could bow out with a victory. That eye injury was bad enough to retire him in the first place so I can't see any good coming of a prolonged comeback (especially in a division that is, as you say, loaded & dangerous even for a healthy competitor at 100%)
