That's interesting - you put the winner of this ahead of Cloud? :think

I think Cloud looked awful against Zuniga, but could still pose problems for Pascal if and when they meet. I haven't actually given too much thought to matching him up against Shumenov or Braehmer. That would be fun either way.

Shumenov by stoppage in the 8-championship rounds. Braehmar IMO is too vulnerable, which is exactly the reason Shumenov and company went after him.

I'm going to take Shumenov TKO 10/11. Braehmer has been stopped in those rounds before and he's going to be tired and get stopped near the end of a close points fight.

Awesome. Anyway I like Shumenov. He's like Gene Tunney's ******ed 204th removed ancester. I honestly don't know how he'd look against Pascal or Dawson. Good step forward here.

Except that neither guy is from either country, so....

Huck-Lebedev left a bad taste of sauerlandkraut in my mouth:-(

Seriously? Was as much a robbery as Pascal-Hopkins.

Which took place in Canada? And I actually disagree, Lebedev outfought Huck the entire time, completely one-sided. Hopkins's knockdowns hurt him, Pascal arguably won the 12th and 10th, a lot closer as far as raw scoring. Lebedev got really jacked.

Nah, Lebedev certainly proved he was the better fighter and he won on my cards but it was close. Due to the 10 point must system and due to the 4 criterias by which you judge who won the rounds. Quite often a fighter can´t transcended his superiority in rounds won - Hopkins-Taylor fights are a prime example here. And IMO this was the case in this fight. Basically, you can say neither fighter was the ring general, both did what they wanted to and couldn´t force the other man to do what he wants him to do. Huck showed the better defence. Lebedev weas the more aggressive man and forced the fight but most of his punches landed on arms shoulders and gloves. That´s not effective. So, the rounds were Huck opened up and did something he won the rounds on my cards on clean and effective punching. The ones where he didn´t Lebedev won on aggressiveness and workrate. Huck should have been awarded with a KD in round 4. I had it 115-113 for Lebedev. Close fight. Went to the wrong fighter. Hometown decision. But no robbery. Something that happens all the time everywhere, remember Alexander-Kotelnik?

:huh Braehmer has never been stopped.

They both have very good chins...but both hit hard and aren't much for defending themselves. The over/under is a bit of a puzzle in this one.

IB, I think he meant Braehmer was almost stopped in his fight against Sukhotsky.

As for Huck-Lebedev, it was definitely a gift for Huck. Whether it's an indictment of German boxing at large is a bit trickier and more subjective, but anyone could see that the Russian won quite clearly (by at least a few rounds). Conversely, the scoring of Pascal-Hopkins quite obviously had nothing to do with nationality and everything to do with the knockdowns and Pascal rallying in the 12th. Hopkins did seem the overall winner of the fight, but my scorecard read a draw - same as the official result. They're two completely different circumstances. Huck-Lebedev was fishy, whether you want to chalk it up to hometown cooking or some other flavor of corruption (or gross incompetence simultaneously afflicting two men at the same table).
