Nery beat the **** out of him! Yamanaka's corner runs in to save him.

Yeah an undefeated and long time champion deserves the benefit of the doubt, but then again it was a member of his own corner who ran in to save him.

Japanese had a really good July, but it's shaping up to be a terrible august.

So what did you guys think of Luis Nery even though you all had Yamanaka outpointing him?

Nery turned up the pace in round 4 and Yamanaka took a whooping until his corner jumped in

Yamanaka def was not a washed 34 year old in there. Dude was still very good. Respect to Nery, that's a great scalp.

Smaller Corrales. I think a precise, accurate and long fighter will beat him.. Yamanaka probably would have had the beating of him a year or two ago. He was a sucker for the jab and left cross.

I picked Nery by KO the day the fight was announced, Nery I figured would play it safe untl he landed something big, and bomb him out, Yamanaka's chin has been going for the last few matches, Nery is relentless, and a terrible opponent to face when you're past it and showing your age, although Yamanaka looked good up until the stoppage.

I thought he was very patient realizing that he was in with a world class operator. He was not too aggressive and he was not too worried about losing the early rounds. The only thing Yamanaka had working for him was the jab, and once Nery studied him for three, he turned up the heat. I thought Yamanaka could have survived the round, but his corner saw the handwriting on the wall.

Absolutely, that was not a washed-up Yamanaka at all.

Watching that again his team jumped in way too quick... He was still defensively aware and slipping most of those shots towards the end.

It was an early corner stoppage, but I'm 99.9% sure it didn't change the result.
