César Juárez vs. Giovanni Delgado, 10 rounds @ super bantamweight

 

You may remember Juárez as being victimized by Nonito Donaire in December, maybe the best opponent yet (going by actual h2h value if not record) in his post-Walters comeback.

 

Juárez & Delgado into the seventh now.

 

Delgado is pretty game, actually - scoring really nice body shots.

 

Juárez fighting kind of dirty, landing on the nape of the neck and then grabbing it and holding Delgado by the head while hitting with the free hand numerous times.

 

Juárez docked a point in the eighth for billygoating.

 

Delgado actually with the crisper offense, more effective defense, and quicker legs. More boxing skill.

Juárez harder-punching and more aggressive, that's all in his favor. (and the plethora of fouls about which the ref is being fairly permissive)

 

Juárez is throwing WILD left upper-hook leads and getting cracked with straight right counters down the pipe. Delgado is working in 4-punch combos on the head, moving in and tying up. Haymakers inside by Juárez. Delgado is scooting out and putting his gloves up to make Juárez lunge and miss (or make partial contact with the pinkie edge of Delgado's mitts) and walking him onto counters. Nice stiff jab by Delgado. Juárez is pressuring but not intelligently, just barging in and letting the leather fly, taking some chunks ripped out from his torso with Delgado's left hook down low at mid-range.

 

Delgado gets the split decision. :good
