Overall I thought Margarito did a fine job tonight, he realized that Ramon wasn't going to go toe to toe with him and stand and trade, Ramon tends to be more of a counter puncher, especially when in against pressure fighters, and Tony doing what Tony always does would have played right into his hands. So he used the first round as a feel out round, got his piston like jab on track half way through the second round found the perfect range and boxed Alvarez's ears off, not allowing Ramon to set the pace he wanted, or get into any king of rhythm of his own, Tony actually kind of reminded me of a poor man's Kovalev tonight, or the old Margarito just a little more defensively minded. He coasted the last two rounds, but was never really hurt and overall put on an impressive performance for an old past it fighter.

 I'm digging the hell out of this revival of the Tijuana Tornado, as long as he stays in his wheelhouse and stays away from the legit players at JMW he can build up an impressive resume feasting on B- to C level fighters, bring on Montero, Sandoval and Omar next.:toney

Coke soda no doubt. Margarito looked terrible and Alvarez looked even worse. It's not personal. I know a shot fighter when I see one. Margarito's eye does not look normal. He kinda has the Tom and Jerry...Tom's eye after he says,"don't you believe it" look.

Anyway, if Canelo fights Margarito, I'll lose the last little bit of respect that I have for him. Margarito is washed.

What JWW are you referring to? The one who's fought at proper JWW once in the last 7 years, and was beating the living hell out of Benavidez for long stretches of that match before finally being put down in the 12th, that one? Paez Jr. has fought as high as and won at SMW. he isn't a pushover by any means, Ramon Alvarez isn't either, Margarito came back from a 5 year layoff and has performed remarkably well all things considered. The Paez match he went down once, it happens, like I said he hadn't fought in 5 years, maybe his chin wasn't used to taking shots again, but other than that round you'd be hard pressed to find any other round in the fight that Paez won convincingly, he may have edged one or two barely, and add to that he was wearing Paez down badly by the 10th, he was holding on for dear life, there's no way he'd have seen the final bell if it was a 12 rounder, so aside from the KD, Margarito performed far more impressively than Jose Benavidez did, which is saying something since Antonio is almost old enough to be Jose's father. Aside from the KD he handled him with ease, just like aside from the first and last round, Margarito just handled Ramon with ease as well.
