Martínez is baiting, standing dead center and squared up at point blank with his guard lowered, then just casually turning his cheek to roll with punches while shooting blind straight right counters simultaneously. He's scaring the bejeezus outta this poor 20 year old kid with a mixture of just enough of a helping each of toughness, recklessness, pressure, unpredictability and slipperiness.

 

Martínez down in the sixth, but correctly ruled a slip. (although he did take a chopping right fist dropped from above when Hernández pushed him with the left forearm)

They're still keeping up a crazy tempo.

 

I haven't been scoring this one but Azteca put up fan poll numbers and they slightly favor Martínez.

Hernández just got battered into a corner by a series of uppercuts followed by wide looping head shots, just one after the other, most of them landing flush. I'm not sure how exactly he stood up to all that, or how Martínez kept up the assault for so long.

Now they're in the center of the ring again, boxing, probing for weaknesses with jabs and lead hooks. Respect.

 

HUGE left uppercut by Hernández, staggering Martínez on the counter, but the latter roared back with a rally of his own and dropped Hernández! (but again, not ruled)

 

Martínez randomly switching to southpaw, just playing head games now. Every time El Chacal starts to jab at him, Martínez finds a space to stuff in a quick short right hand, sometimes doubling it up for a bonus score before Hernández can tighten up again.

GIGANTIC hooks and straights being hurled in the waning seconds, both spinning themselves off balance throwing bombs in the pocket.

 

The commentators are going nuts.
