Hopefully we get to see Magdaleno flatten his bug eyed peanut headed ass.

Juarez travels for a tough match and gets a bit of a premature stoppage on his record for his troubles... He came through far more adversity against Donaire. Meh. A bit disappointing. I would have liked to see at least another 2 rounds of that fight to really further see where both these fighters lay in the grand scheme of things...

It was pretty clear Dogboe was starting to fall apart, fine Juarez was hurt, but like you said, no worst than he was against Donaire. Weeks took the first opportunity he had to jump and give than Ghanaians their one big moment they'll have this decade. Its such a pity, I really love seeing Browne-Chagaev results, I love it when away fighter humiliate and stop the home guys.

Anyway, was that the best fight of the very young new year so far? All six days of it...

Completely agreed. It's a symptom of the fight game itself however. Even just 30-40 years ago fighters were fighting to see who the best was, and the referees usually allowed them to fight. A stoppage like this would have stuck out like a sore thumb in previous eras, but now a days boxing is an entirely different animal altogether.

I'm aware the mob controlled boxing at one point and had quite a bit of influence over the game, but what the modern boxing fan fails to realize is that instead of being controlled by one sketchy organization, boxing is now controlled by dozens, including an endless amount of shameless promoters for regional level talents. Anyone thinking that in this day and age Juarez had an actual equal fighting chance in there isn't seeing the whole picture. Boxing is now orchestrated almost every time out for the benefit of one, and only one, fighter.

You get the win, but no bonus KO. But that's no big deal, the win matters the most.

I dunno, guys...that was a massive shot. I feel like plenty of refs might've just waved it off the second Juárez hit the canvas and eschewed a count altogether.

I would have liked to see it go a little longer but have seen far worse stoppages. In world title fights especially I think the fighters should get any benefit of the doubt wether they can continue

 you've gotta stop getting so salty over your league picks gone awry.

Subtract the league from the equation and you'd have no real beef with Dogboe (or his stoppage) today nor Mock (or his points victory you didn't see) yesterday. ;)

Referees should be aware of a fighters limitations. If he had known about anything about Juarez, which I doubt, than he would know that tonight he gave Juarez less of a chance than other referees already have in the past. The Donaire fit was jaw dropping and Juarez was quite fine through 12. He's a warrior.
