    Round 2

Pérez is juking to either side, like the contents of a snowglobe rattling against the invisible glass walls. Pérez looking for a punching angle, but can't find it yet. Álvarez then all of a sudden HANDS IT TO HIM ON A SILVER PLATTER! Álvarez lazily steps inside without committing to his 1-2, just taking his time going through motions and pulling his arms up from an inert position by his sides, takes a HUGE overhand right on the kisser, and is bowled over.

    KO2!!

The puncher beat the boxer, and rather easily at that. If he wasn't such a dunce Álvarez could have probably cruised to a dance and pot-shot UD.

On the other hand Bombardero seems to pack very serious power - although going by his record (two KO1 losses) he appears to be a bit of a glass cannon.

Just checking into their promotional histories, and it turns out Zurdo was the house fighter. Bombardero was a free agent, but got snapped up by Zanfer (aka Top Rank's partner in Mexico) as reward for this KO.

So, I remember reading that if he beat Tabul, it would push "The Fury" into the WBO rankings...but with the draw, where does that leave him? Still just hovering right outside, like a dingleberry? Is that considered a push, or do sanctioning bodies consider a draw a positive (but obviously lesser) result than a W?

Drawing with an unranked guy can't have more than a minuscule effect on your own positioning, I wouldn't imagine. What about drawing with a ranked guy, though? Both stay the same?

Did the draw with GGG leave Canelo exactly where he was?

All this time and there's still stuff about this sport I puzzle over.

If the WBO treats African fighters anything like the WBC, Dogboe will remain the mandatory for like three years, paying sanctioning fees the whole time, and be repeatedly forced to fight more eliminators. Eventually he will have to face a killer, and he will be destroyed without a Magdaleno fight ever happening. That's what the WBC did to Ajose Olusegone.

''Facilities doe!'' '' poverty doe!'' Lol!
If the entire continent of Africa of 54 countries and 1.4 billion people can produce the odd decent talent now and again then there shouldn't be any excuses as to why they can't constantly produce lots of good fighters! The truth hurts.

The Akbar One aka The Petty Excuse Maker.

And btw... Ajose Olusegun was a BUM. He was NEVER good enough for world level.
