Ferguson is continuing to insinuate himself in Tabul's chest while dodging all his chopping punches by slipping and weaving at close range. Ferguson actually demonstrating impressive slickness for such an inexperienced kid and having already expended quite a lot of energy. Tabul is down, slip. They bring in a grounds crew to wipe down the wet canvas with a towel. Sweat? Rain? Did the ref tinkle down his pant leg? Who knows. Time in. Sloppy underhanded body shots flung into the hips and thighs by Tabul. Ferguson is keeping his right fist up at his throat, left shoulder lowered, chin pulled back, classic American boxer stance. Ferguson is slipping and countering. Tabul starts to land some overhand rights in the pocket. Ferguson rips him with a hook to back him off.

10-9 Ferguson, very close, Tabul was coming on strong late.

Round 8

Brawl in the center of the ring. Tabul slugging it out, clubbing at the head and plugging Ferguson in the body with scooping uppercuts. Tabul just chucking arm punches now. Ferguson tired as well but turning, catching shots on his shoulder and backside, and countering with slap-hooks. Ferguson is landing combos on the face as Tabul loads up on single punches.

Would've made for one hell of a 6-rounder on FNF, though.

 

Round 9

Ferguson is mouth-breathing and hanging over Tabul like a load of laundry set out to dry on the clothesline when not punching, Tabul lightly tapping his ribs and flanks with arm punches. Ferguson ignores the constant paddling, alternating between smothering Tabul in a tie-up or landing jabs and hooks on the face at mid-range.
