Nava turns her starboard away from Lozano, approaching her side-on, galloping in crab-style, putting out a few probing jabs economically, saving her strength for the inside battle. Lozano doesn't like the body shots and retreats into the corner, looking to ambush Nava with big wind-ups, slamming her fists in from behind her own back after swaying and dipping out of reach. Nava blocks or slips and counters with slashing hooks across the stomach, doubling up to clip Lozano on the chin.

Round 6

Nava is following Lozano around the ring, pestering her with jabs. Lozano is intent on springing a trap for Nava, twisting around and uncoiling herself like a jack-in-the-box with heavy blows. Nava sees them all coming and only partially absorbs them if not catching them on the gloves or tilting to either side to dodge them. Lozano is running out of ideas and room to run in the ring. She starts to zigzag in center ring and flail at Nava's face with light jabs just to distract her, buying time until the bell ring.

Round 7

Nava is dashing in with a lancing right hand lead high on Lozano's face, then withdrawing just as quickly. Lozano is having trouble timing her. Lozano starts to bow in close and cling to Nava closely, scrabbling with both arms to gather Nava in and dribble her fists against her sides in a chaotic melee. Lozano gets in some glancing contact with a couple of looping shots on the way out, trotting away from Nava, and Nava laughs and nods appreciatively.

10-9 Nava but closest.

Jackie's defense is pretty solid.

 

Barbosa gave Lozano the seventh and has it 69-64 Nava.

 

Round 8

Nava is ducking under Lozano's punches and tattooing her stomach with straight needling punches. Lozano tries sweeping in a couple of wide hooks with either hand at the sides of Nava's head and is countered by hard right hands, Nava rolling her shoulder up from a crouch for extra leverage, snapping Lozano's head back sharply.

Round 9

Nava lands a left on the body and Lozano staggers away, having been caught in mid-step and knocked off balance. Lozano is running around the perimeter now, desperately sweeping in shots as Nava catches up to her and leans in with body 1-2s. Nava bobbing on the way in, side to side, rolling her head in a U pattern beneath the Lozano jab and landing hooks every time she straightens her knees on the bounce-up. Nava is marching Lozano down now with jab-feints and landing lead rights. Hard left hook on the ribs by Nava. Lozano sucks in air and takes a big step backward.

Orangel Ramos imploring Lozano in the corner to find some deep reserves of will and go for the KO while applying Vaseline to her marked-up face.

 

Round 10

Nava is throwing lead rights, turning in place and rolling her biceps in to catch Lozano's return fire, then snapping to center herself in starting stance with a charged hook. Lozano is jabbed into the ropes but manages to claw her way free throwing wild shots off the hip. Lozano running, and survives until the bell.

Princesa has still got it. The only real obstacle to her unifying would appear to be Amanda Serrano, the boricua WBO champ. If she wants to reclaim her old WBC & WBA titles her path should be relatively unimpeded.
