It’s better to be a fair man than a good man, a fair man can do things that a good man can’t, a good man will eventually be a victim.
But the question of if it’s better to be a good man or a perfect boxer, is a bit of a stretch to consider. Perfect boxers don’t exist, but if they did, what would you consider perfect? It would have to be every fight won by the first punch thrown in the first second of the fight.
And a good man is basically a priest or someone who lacks testosterone, good doesn’t cut it in this world.
But I think it’s important to say that we currently have multiple champions in boxing who fit the bill for what it means to be a champion in boxing, Usyk, Crawford, Bivol and Inoue are all great champions who epitomise what boxing is, integrity, honesty, humility, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship.
I think the best answer is that it’s better to be a good champion, rather than a good man or a perfect boxer.
I can’t remember the last time the sport had this many champions who had the real attributes of a champion.
And that’s the best thing about boxing right now.
I challenge anyone to give me an example of when there was a better group of champions who were also pound for pound.

The most powerful thing Usyk ever did was give a speech about his son's victories when he just won the undisputed HW title the hardest way possible.

I don't know how much that effects or should his standing in boxing but as men, fathers, whatnot ... I respect him more than my own favorite boxers who were **** fathers.

Marciano, Dempsey, Wlad, I can see and understand their arguments for them against Usyk as fighters. As men, Usyk is everything you ****s were and still a family man.

To some that won't matter, but to me, he's next to JJ; transcendent, a hero beyond the sport. Johnson, Louis, Ali, Usyk ... they are sons of Apollo. Mount Rushmore of boxers who were also pretty great dudes. Chain Breaker, Aryan Denier, Voice of The People, Father.

Mad respect to Usyk, much love to his fam, stay safe out there y'all; **** is crazy
