Strange One This.i Think Theres Welters Who Could Beat Floyd Despite Him Being Pfp1.i Also Think Rjj Was Pfp1 When He Beat Ruiz, but There Were Heavies Who Could Beat Him.

Any Other Examples Where Anyone Felt The Same?
Spinks After Beating Holmes Could Be Argued Too.

Not really unusual though , this happens when you get fighters like Ray Leonard that have proved their greatness in their original weight class and then start jumping up to other divisions and beat a to guy who they are at a size disadvantage against. They might not necessarily beat every1 in that division , but because of their accomplishmnt of the weight jumping victory they are given recognition as p4p 1

It would be odd to be in that situation, but I can think of one person who fit that bill ever, so your comment means nothing.

This is a flawed arguement, even though Jones fought and won a title at heavyweight he was fighting far above his best competitive weight class.

P4p means regardless of weight so when this Jones/Leonard/Mayweather situation happens , it just means that the guy must be great because they have beaten a class fighter who is at a size advantage to him . He might not beat every fighter at that higher weight (because of styles of some of the naturall fighters at the weight) . But usually when this happens , thr fighter has established himself as a contender for the p4p number1 spot anyway - like Leonard @147 , Mayweather @ 130 etc. so its not that much of a bigdeal

This Wasnt Meant To Be Provocative.
Just Guys Who Were Great Enough To Move Up And Win A Belt But Couldnt Beat The Whole Division Due To Lack Of Size Despite Being Brilliant.its Not A Hate Thread.

P4P means that given the fighter's skill level, if he were to fight at any weight class he would be the best at the given division.

It's like in football(NFL). Many say that Bob Sanders is p4p the best defensive player. That doesn't mean that he can go, and be the best pass rusher at defensive end at his current size. If he were a natural 6'4" and 275 lbs., however, he would probably the best pass rusher at the DE position.

So, given these boxer's (Jones, Leonard, PBF) ability to move beyond their natural weightclass and win championships. That's a testament to their greatness. You don't have to dominate 10 different weight classes to be considered p4p the best.

Everyone is beatable, regardless of what division they dominate on any given night. Did Lewis not get KTFO by Rahman???

So, given that everyone is a mere mortal. WTF is the point of this thread??

Anyhow, PBF can't be considered a part of the point of your topic. He did beat a WW to win the title in the division, defended the title against WW(Judah) and defeated a Jnr. Middleweight as well. Therefore, he is the best in the division right now.

Now, you're probably gonna say that DLH was over the hill, bla bla bla, but who'd Cotto beat that put him on the map as one of the best in the WW div. an over the hill Mosely and Judah.

That's almost the same **** that Floyd did, but you'all make it out as if Cotto has accomplished more in the division.

Such BS. I don't dislike Cotto and hope to see him in there with Floyd at some point, but there's no need to discredit Floyd at this point.
