Bektemir Rozmatjon Ogli Meliqoziyev vs. Darius Sherrod Fulghum & Eric Priest vs. Luis Arias RBR.

Great fight. I’d love to watch a rematch.

 

Really fun fight. Thought the point deduction was a bit harsh but thankfully it didn't make a difference. Fulghum fought well, much better than I was expecting anyway after those first couple rounds where he looked pretty outclassed and a bit shocked. He was surprisingly capable and successful on the inside and caught Bek with a lot of sneaky shots, it's rare to see a guy as tall as Fulghum know how to fight that well in the pocket. Bek is really fun to watch when he gets into his little groove and gets up on his toes, circling to the right and bouncing in and out. He's also very adept at generating power on the move and punching off of quick changes in direction. I don't know why he keeps his hands so low so often though, he's not a very twitchy or reactive kind of fighter and I don't think he has the speed to pull off that style with his hands down so low when he's a brawler at heart. I also don't really know why he kept flashing his elbow like a matador holding a red cloth, every time he did that Fulghum would just shoot the 1-2 over his elbow. Bek could have made that fight a lot easier if he went to the body with the frequency he usually does I thought, especially since Fulghum's elbows leave his ribs a lot. But all in all, it was a very fun fight between two capable but flawed contenders.

 

Great fight. Excited to see what's to come from Bek. He's been underrated since the Rosado loss. He shows flashes of brilliance and then will get clocked with an obvious punch. Not sure what's up with the elbow up defense, but it isn't great.

This fight reminded me of PW vs. Sexy Sergio. Great back and forth action.
