Legendary ABC announcer Keith Jackson died in January of this year; have yet to see any tribute on this site so I decided to make a thread to do so. Even though he was much better known for calling U.S. college football ("Whoa Nelly!!!"), he also called some of the most memorable fights in boxing history-and did quite a good job of it. One thing I like about his announcing style is that he never projected the same type of bombast that Cossell did, and usually stuck to calling the action at hand. That said, when a fight caught fire, he could convey the drama about as well as anyone. So, here are a couple of the better known fights he called. Enjoy!
