Its all over Vitor has been resigned and will fight Franklin at UFC 103. Dan Henderson obviously has been scrapped and according to Dana White will fight Anderson Silva next and probablly pretty soon. Also Tito Ortiz resigned and will be back in the octagon by the end of the year possibly vs Mark Coleman.
He looked good at 185 with 2 scary KOs over Matt Lindland and Terry Martin. 205 might be alittle tough for him right now as he always seemed to be a step behind the best guys.
Good to see both guys back in the UFC. Franklin vs Belfort should be a good fight but I think its more of a co-main event fight then a headliner for a PPV. Tito should beat Coleman pretty easily.
Well usually Championship fights are the headliners but with Anderson fighting next week and the Lightweight title being up for grabs then recently we had 2 title matches at UFC 100 not every show can be one. Rich Franklin vs Vitor Belfort is about as good as you will get right now without a belt on the line. It looks like an exicting bout and both are former UFC Champs with a large fanbase and not to mention if Vitor wins hes in line for a title shot at either weight and a Rich win will make him 3-1 at 205 in the last year and arguablly 4-0 so a title shot is near for him as well.
Was this there "huge" announcement? LOL. Decent fight, but I dont think it will be that competitive. Franklin should win this quite easily. Coleman/Tito is hilarious to me.
Mmmm very nice fight. Franklin should use his wrestling skill to beat Belfort, because I don't think he can outstrike Belfort due to his freakish hand speed. I think Belfort take this by TKO in the 2nd
very nice i like the idea of the phemon back in the octagon especially with a belfort-silva fight in the near future. i think belfort get past franklin without alot of trouble. franklin is good but i think belfort takes it standing up. if belfort gets past silva id pay money to see belfort-st.pierre
This is an interesting match-up. Franklin was the man at 185, and may still be, barring Anderson Silva. And maybe barring Henderson. Okay, he was one of the men at 185. Franklin aspires to be the man at 205, though his most realistic aspiration is probably one of the best minus Machida or so. Anyway... When Franklin faced Silva; he faced someone well versed in all aspects of mma, with exceptional talent. Belfort is also an exceptional talent, but perhaps less skilled Silva in certain aspects. I favor Belfort here, but I may still be awe struck by watching his UFC debut live some time ago.
So the UFC realized Hendo deserved another shot at Silva instead of giving us a second fight with Franklin no one wanted to see? GOOD! This makes things far more interesting. Franklin v. Belfort could be fun.
