Agree with everything you put. MVP will not outstrike Rory, and Rory will put him on the floor whenever he chooses. If Daley is taking you down, you have problems... I think because Paul is on his way out that they gave the nod to MVP, because that guy is seen as the future (even though he is in his 30's) and seem's to be a "face" of the company.
I was about to write the bit about Daley. If Semtex -- a dyed-in-the-wool knockout artist -- is scoring takedowns on you, you really really need to work on that takedown defence.
Agreed. I get why Paul did that (to confuse MVP & score points) but I'd be majorly worried if I was MVP and stepping up to the elite. I think we saw his true level last night, because he is too old to improve.
It also just occurred to me that, despite being 30 years of age and having had only 14 MMA fights in seven years, Daley was Page's first real test. For a guy who is being hyped as one of the faces of Bellator, he sure has been moved slowly.
I think deep down, Page knows this, hence the reason for taking the route of the dilettante. Instead of just focusing on MMA, he has the occasional mismatch with a Spanish journeyman and a Polish journeyman respectively, while the people around him blow smoke about how great a boxer he is.
Really disappointing fight. MVP looked a bit over rated. He may want to see if he can cut to 155. He'd get absolutely destroyed at 170 in UFC.
