Boy, did they rob that dude Ben Askren choked or what? I mean, no fault to Askren, he was doing what he was supposed to. But, what was up with the ref stopping it for no reason?
Yeah - I've never seen that. A ref waving off a fighter as "submitted" with no tap, no verbal submission, and still fully conscious. Crazy. I mean it was tight, and he may well have gotten it anyway, but - not the official's place. Tournament or no, there needs to be a rematch.
They said it was because Thomas closed his eyes and the Ref thought he was passing out. I'm sure there will be a rematch.
