Bellew isn't drained and has no problems with the weight, people need to stop banging on about that cause it's a myth. He was sipping water before he got on the scales which tells you he wasn't dehydrated or anything and he tweeted a pick of himself below the weight 2 days before. I was at the press conference and the weigh in, I saw them both in the flesh. Chilemba definitely looked a bit startled, a bit like he didn't expect so many cameras flashing and fans shouting sort of thing. The cut throat thing with two fingers, he was caught in two minds as to whether to cut throat or do the peace sign and ended doing a mix of both. That showed that he was caught in two minds and couldn't think clearly, even if only for a split second. It's like when somebody makes a joke about you and you try to think of a witty comeback but in your haste to get it out you end up saying something daft that makes no sense. He may not be intimidated to the extent where went back to his hotel last night and cried himself to sleep but don't buy any this "he's from South Africa and had tape worm, nothing phases him," ****. They said the same about Yusaf Mack before Froch (grew in Philly, Nottingham won't scare him) and he completely froze on the night. Not saying the same will happen with Chilemba but don't assume just because he was smiling and showboating that he auto-matically felt super-confident, from where I stood (about 10 yards away) he looked a tad nervous but was trying to hide the fact he was nervous by showboating. Fake smile IMO. Bellew just looked proper pumped up and ready. That's last post for today from me now, I'm off to the Everton vs Stoke match and then straight off to the Echo arena for the fight. COME ON BOMBER, LET'S DO IT SON!
Made a preview on the fight tonight! Let me know what you guys think.. One of the first pieces I have wrote.. Have a look at http://www.orrzboxing13.blogspot.co.uk/ @OrrzBoxing
Exactly. pretty sure Hatton made Pacquiao look away first also. I remember people saying Pacquios goofy smile was the result of nerves. :rofl When will people realise fights are not won at the weigh in.
Can't say I like the mad-eyes act myself. Nice to see fighters meaning business but trying too hard to intimidate looks a bit pathetic.
Bellew looked terrible at weigh in! It looked planned him coming in drinking. 2 slips is all he took,if he wasn't drained why would he bother. Chimebla didn't try an make a statement coming in drinking! Bellew looks the one nervous!
It indicates **** all. Some people don't like making eye contact, some people do. Some people feel the need to intimidate their opponents, some just let their fists do the talking. Manny Pac rarely gets through a staredown without laughing or looking away. You certainly don't accuse him of shitting it.
yeh i thought that drinking was a set up - its like hes protesting too much about bein relaxed and comfortable at the weight and saying he had breakfast before the weigh in which hes said before after the weigh in he wasnt sippin his water bottle he was takin big swigs out of a black container im no fan of bellew but ive been impressed with him in the build up this week and hope he wins
He needs to put in a few world-class weigh-in performances, Ice. He's only weighed in at Euro level so far. If he could get a couple of those along with a good, strong ring walk (he needs better entrance music), then he'll break into the top ten. But he's a LONG way off of the Klitschkos.
